Kadum Wines
Biući, Croatia (Istria)
The Kadum family story is a long one. Long have the produced wine in Istrian vineyards within mere miles of the Adriatic Sea. In 2019 Ivan fully took over the vineyards and winemaking and this launched the family and name into the spotlight. Almost immediately Ivan's wine began receiving high praise.
Today the family farms six hectares of vines and two of olives, worked to organic standards on the iron-red soils of western Istria, a short walk from the Adriatic. The focus is Malvazija Istarska, aged in oak, amphora, and sparkling but the belle of the ball is always their fresh Malvazija which took the championship title at Vinistra, Istria's top wine competition — alongside Refošk, Teran, Merlot, and Cabernet.
